voxpoptart
voxpoptart thumbnail
voxpoptart The bulk of this is catchy, intelligently-constructed hard rock and pop-metal and pop-grunge: accessible celebrations of weirdos and outsiders. But while Bieler & co. are very good when playing such music straight, they're even better when choosing weird tunings or off-balance rhythms. ("Flying Monkeys"'s carnival-Zappa stylings hooked me first; nothing else here is *that* far out, but it all reeled me in nonetheless.) Favorite track: Flying Monkeys.

Andrew Witt Holy ScHmIdT I came across this randomly looking for new music. I thought Jason Bieler's name and voice sounded familiar...sure enough this is Jason Bieler from the 90's band Saigon Kick! Amazing! I loved Saigon Kick and I am loving this project from him. So awesome to hear great stuff coming from a blast from my past, I listened to Saigon Kick back in high school and 30+ years later listening to the same guy do more great music!
Tahoe-tally Awesome

Tahoe-tally Awesome LOVE this album so much. "The Depths" to me, is a modern day Eleanor Rigby, such a beautiful despair. Birds of Prey is another one of my faves with Sweet Eliza being an apex of awesome! Great job Jason once again! Favorite track: The Depths.

Numb 04:58
Little rich girl, like a mouse You gnaw on dead things and scurry about In a pinch girl, you get real small You disappear girl, into a wall Crawl inside us as we slumber try and find the holes Bore inside behind our eyes assuming full control Messenger I’m numb Read it to me ‘cause I feel so dumb Passengers in love Traveled so far now broken and stunned Noble spider, upon my wall Watching over my imminent fall Wrapped in silk and oh so safe At first bite am I to your taste Darkness dreams about us
3.
Heathens 04:41
I got a message but it’s all spelled wrong Circled your house like a drone It’s in the wreckage removing steel from bone light up the sky then you’re gone I got the launch codes I got the daily brief Brains filled with all broken parts I got no false hope I’m on the hangman’s rope It’s darkest but never the dawn There’s no tomorrow there’s no way There’s only sorrow left to find Heathens rise above the ashes as the night falls Crashing down upon us like the tide comes Wash away the markings on the sidewalks Makes it look like we were never here We got the sickness we got the fever dreams visions of saints ain’t enough Forget forgiveness it felt just like a dream waiting on truth from above You got the cat’s eye you got the razor shined cleaving the flesh from your soul We watched the world end we make it break and bend Moving like ghosts in the road

I don’t like that monkey staring as if we’d walk out just to spite him He just grins as if he can see all of my old sins as if he knows me If he bites we think he just might now try to sink those teeth into my brain Telling lies to all the bad guys as they take flight across the table Will he win or will he be treacherously close to wearing the same hat that I wore Drinking gin and dancing like the Mata Hari right across the floor into a Model T look at me Sink or swim or take the slide down the alley watch out now ‘cause everything’s dangerous Is he real or is he gone down among the poor and dumb just waiting to banish us vanquish us I really shouldn’t stay too long the primate and his friends will kill me Even though they know it’s wrong they’re stronger than ten of you and me Now you got ‘em standing tall ready to just dismember me Damn if he dancing on, glancing strutting right towards me
7.
Sic Riff 04:53
Sic Riff breaking your hips when the drummer slows down the pit gets sick It’s a sign we’re in the big time Trip trip as the drugs you take hit when the satellite’s down my Netflix skips In our prime it’s showtime We made the deal we got to bury it deep no faking Beg borrow steal we got to set it on fire This isn’t real this isn’t my home but maybe We spin the wheel and just let it fly Life is surreal it gives you a taste then takes it There’s some appeal in watching them die Can’t make ‘em kneel and buy into all this crazy it’s not ideal but let’s give it a try Everything is fine we’re running out of time they say it’s over Swine falling far behind the climb with no rope

Dangerous no gravity it’s beautiful for all to see Take the bear sedatives and everyone will feel alright it’s an ancient remedy like sugar water laced with spite Hundred million years ago depression killed the dinosaurs Hundred million years ago some fish crawled up onto the shores In danger of hypocrisy salacious tales told with urgency Treacherous no honesty we’ve fallen out we could never be

Human Head 05:44
I bought a human head and placed it on my shelf It watches over me and no one else I took my human heart and placed it in this box I sewed it in your chest and tied you up in knots On the wings of Satan My blade is raised you’re my new creation I had a human soul put it up for sale I cut it into parts and placed it in the mail I had the greatest love the bones so wide and strong I keep it buried near in case you ever come All of my skeletons come to life and they dance in the moonlight Smiles just so elegant we can act just like everything’s alright Whispers on the breeze, mountain falls this is all of these, there’s nothing more Piss is on the breeze, mountain falls This is all of these, there’s nothing more

Message from the Baron

I’m eternally thankful to the entire creative team and musicians for helping this record be realized, I am also super thankful to the world of Prog for embracing whatever it is we actually do and helping me and the Baron find a second life.

My family and friends…you are welcome for the gift that is me.

All the amazing musicians, artists and filmmakers for creating inspiring things that make everyone’s life richer for having experienced your work!

All the wonderful industry peeps, managers, assistants, agents, promoters, security folks, and venues for giving me a place to gyrate inappropriately in front of more and more people each year! Did I mention all the catering people…who make life worth living!

Most importantly, all of you for supporting The Baron Von Bielski Orchestra, by buying, streaming, stealing, sharing, acquiring merch and your attendance. The fact that I get to do what I do, is largely due to you…and I am forever thankful!

Hope you enjoy the music!
